The whole composition of Ravenstag just begs to be enhanced with specialty finishing, which is exactly why we picked it as a testbed for pushing the boundaries of what digital sleeking can do. The strong linework and strategic use of negative space make it perfect for showing off what happens when you start layering different foils and finishes.
The magic of digital sleeking is that we can swap foil colors in and out like paint swatches, letting us explore different moods without reinventing the wheel each time. Once we've dialed in the registration on a piece, we can experiment with different combinations to our heart's content. Gold brings a classical, warm feel that works beautifully with the anatomical elements. Copper adds this gorgeous organic quality that makes the flowers pop. And when we really want to lean into the darker elements of the piece, black foil on black soft touch laminate creates this incredibly subtle shadow effect that you almost have to hunt for - it's like a modern take on those old Victorian mourning cards.
The best part is we're not locked into a single interpretation. Every color brings something new to the table, and since we're working with digital files, we can mix and match without the setup costs you'd see in traditional foil stamping. It's like having an entire art gallery's worth of interpretations from a single print run.
