This deceptively simple excel tool was designed to have an easy entry interface for production team members to calculate tool positions for the Horizon SmartSlitter finishing system. Behind the scenes, a suite of error checks and configurable variables enabled enormous customization.

Designed for project management and sales quoting staff to quickly estimate the correct finishing task for any size book, this project uses ActiveX validation, VBA, and an ODBC link to error check configurations and live update available substrates and binding options from a MySQL database.

This extensive tool acted as an all in one swiss army knife during my tenure at Brookstone. Utilizing VBA and a host of custom formulas, this sheet took the place of six separate manually tracked KPI resources, linking scheduling, coaching, and floor coverage across a collection of worksheets.
